Korie Steitz, Class of 2005
Day student and Network Administration Student
Korie Steitz was born in Steamboat Springs, CO. She was inspired to become a nordic skier by her father Tom Steitz, who was the Olympic Nordic Combined coach for the US team. Korie would sit on the side of the course during the races cheering on the athletes, and hoped that one day she would be able to race with a crowd cheering, too. Korie Steitz has been a competitive nordic racer for 12 years. She has competed in the Junior Nationals for three years and has placed in the top ten every trip.
Korie has been one of the top two female nordic skiers in Colorado for the past three years.
In the school year of 2003-04, Korie moved to The Lowell Whiteman School to finish her academic career.”Moving to Whiteman was the best decision I ever made,” she says. Not only did Whiteman help Korie in both skiing and in her education, but she says the support from her follow peers and teachers was tremendous.
