Baileigh Bolten, Class of 2004
Baileigh isn’t your average student and wouldn’t be anywhere in the world. She is one of the best artists we have ever seen come out of The Lowell Whiteman School and if you go to the link below which leads you to a WEB site of collective work by many artists, you will probably agree.
Baileigh is a fan of anime, a form of art developed first by the Japanese. She loves to draw anime but she is also gifted in other realms. She is as good with Photoshop as she is with a pencil. Pagemaker and will soon be working on the school’s yearbook. To see examples of her work, see below and visit this artist’s community at http://barraarisa.deviantart.com/gallery/#Senior-Thesis.
Baileigh is also a devoted foreign traveler. She has been to China twice on two separate foreign trips and loves that country. During both trips, her group taught English in a public school. Baileigh relished this opportunity. She went back the second time because of that experience, to see the people again and because she admits to loving the food as well! She says the people are incredibly friendly and by all accounts, with her artistic skill (her sketchbook is always at hand) and her beautiful long ash brown hair, she was a favorite with the Chinese.
You can find Baileigh horseback most afternoons in the fall. She is part of the LWS Horse Program and has three local Steamboat horse pack trips and three horse trips to Utah under her belt. (She is pictured here, on the left mounted on the white horse, with her friend Faith.) She has learned to rope although she will tell you it isn’t her best skill, her humor and antics while she ropes certainly entertain the rest of us.
Baileigh has proven that you don’t have to be a ski or snowboard jock or a straight A student to be successful at LWS, (though she has raised her GPA to a very satisfactory level). You can find your niche where your talent and good will lead you.
