Experience Video:
Johnny Spillane, Class of 1999 -- Olympic Triple Silver Medalist in a 2010 Olympic Moment. "Lowell Whiteman School made it possible for me to do what I've done. If you get an opportunity to go to a school like this, take it! I recognized what I had here and it really made it possible for me to get where I am."
Ride/Write
So what if you want to compete in snowboarding……. but you also want to go on an LWS foreign trip?
The best of both worlds. It’s easy to do with our Ride-Write program. You can take advantage of the amazing coaches at SSWSC and polish your snowboarding skills. Instead of competitive dryland training in the fall, you would participate in one of the many LWS activities – biking, horseback riding, climbing, physical training or team sports. In the spring, you would depart with the rest of the foreign travelers to take full advantage of one of the oldest educational travel programs in the country. Peru, Africa, Mongolia, India…. just some of many places we travel.
Ride–Write students maintain a full load of classes during the winter months and train with a SSWSC coach three afternoons per week after classes and there is an optional Saturday training. It is possible to attend some weekend competitions with the SSWSC. Perfect for those riders considering giving competitions a try. Ride-Write participants also attend Foreign Trip program activities. Participants are required to pay SSWSC program fees and LWS foreign trip fees.
