Gifts Through Your Will or Living Trust…

One of the simplest ways to make a gift to The Lowell Whiteman School is through your Will or Living Trust. These gifts provide critical support for the future of LWS and its mission. There are several types of bequests:

Specific Bequest: You can name The Lowell Whiteman School as the direct beneficiary of a stated amount of money, a particular piece of property, or a stated percentage of your estate.

Residuary Bequest: You can designate that the Lowell Whiteman School receive all or a portion of the remainder of your estate once all specific bequests (to family and friends) have been satisfied.

Contingent Bequest: Often, individuals provide that assets should go to family members or friends. However, it is important to provide for a contingent beneficiary to receive assets in case your named individual beneficiaries to not survive you.

Bequests to The Lowell Whiteman School are deductible from your gross estate and can therefore offer estate tax savings. There is no limit on the amount you can leave to the School or to other charitable organizations through your Will.
