Johnny Spillane, Class of 1999 -- Olympic Triple Silver Medalist in a 2010 Olympic Moment.  "Lowell Whiteman School made it possible for me to do what I've done.  If you get an opportunity to go to a school like this, take it!  I recognized what I had here and it really made it possible for me to get where I am."

Inspiring MINDS, Inspiring LIVES

As you read about LWS Alumni experiences, you will see the LWS story of success over and over.  “I am where I am today because LWS helped me to see I can meet almost any challenge.  I have big plans for myself: to continue to study, learn, and travel.  I know my future will be full of adventure and service because I learned at Whiteman that I love to learn and travel.” Elizabeth Findell ‘06, Colorado College, Class of 2010.

"If everyone knew about this little school in the mountains, there would be a line a mile long to get in.  It's such a well-kept secret and if we are doing our job as parents right, we will sing its praises long and loud.  His LWS education made all the difference in our son, Jennings (class of 2008).  He was not the kind of kid who fit in well at public school.  He wasn't challenged and he didn't find anything there to motivate him.  Looking back, I think he was just bored.

"Lowell Whiteman School changed everything for Jennings.  He found classes and teachers exciting and inspiring.  He found confidence in himself in the activity and outdoor programs. He developed friends who shared his interests and became close to teachers who taught him amazing things about the outdoors.   He went to many foreign countries in four years and came back with a wealth of experience money cannot buy.   I cannot stress enough how life-changing the LWS foreign travel program is.  There isn't another one like it in the world.

"Jennings is doing so well in college, enjoying his classes, and getting the most out of what his professors can teach because he learned to do that at LWS.  I'd also like to say, we also never lost touch with Jennings even in his teenage years, which as you know, can be difficult for parents.  He remained close to us and shared his interests with us, his new passions and what he had learned.  I will tell you all tonight, if your child is fortunate to spend four years in this school, you have done the very best you could for him.  And you absolutely cannot put a price on the experience and education he will have gained by graduation."  --Towny Anderson, at a Parent Weekend gathering, 2010.
