Affording LWS
At the Lowell Whiteman School we believe everyone who truly has a passion for experiencing our one-of-a-kind program should have access to it. The base day student tuition for 2011-12 is $18,700; base boarding student tuition is $34,900. Students participating in the Global Immersion Studies program have an additional $4,000 obligation, while student-winter athletes participating with the SSWSC pay the club's fees. A 10% deposit ensures a student's enrollment, and then the rest of the tuition is payable all at once in July, or in plans of 2 to 3 installments, with a 2.5% administrative fee. The Foreign Travel tuition must be collected by November 1.
The school is dedicated to supporting qualified students through a need-based financial aid program. In the past decade, 30-to-35% of the school’s students have received some level of financial aid. The Lowell Whiteman School seeks to enroll students who will benefit from, and contribute to, the Lowell Whiteman School Experience. To that end, need-based financial aid awards range from relatively modest to nearly the full tuition. While financial aid funds are necessarily limited, the Lowell Whiteman School endeavors to make an LWS education feasible for all accepted students.
Application for financial aid is managed through School and Student Services (SSS). Financial aid applications can be completed at http://sss.nais.org. Lowell Whiteman's school code is 8188.
