The Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club
Training Through the World Renowned Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club: Operated in conjunction with the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club, the LWS Competitive Ski and Snowboard Program has sixteen Olympian and XGames athletes to its credit, including 2002 Freestyle Silver Medalist, Travis Mayer ‘00, FreeSkiing phenom and XGames Silver Medalist, Pep Fujas ‘01, and 2003 Nordic Combined World Champion, Johnny Spillane ‘99.
Students train throughout the fall and compete in the winter in the disciplines of Alpine, Nordic, Freestyle, and Snowboarding. During the competition season, athletes are allowed flexibility to tailor their academic program to fit their competition schedule. Academic coursework is then made up during the intensive Intersession in April.
