About LWS
Following Our Founder’s Vision:
Steamboat pioneer Lowell Whiteman dreamed of a school which would offer young people a rigorous college preparatory education coupled with “so much adventure for so long that they would have sufficient opportunity to grow and mature.” Today the Lowell Whiteman School is no different; our traditional academic curriculum continues to act as the foundation of the education we offer, while the foreign travel program, the fall camping program, and competitive winter sports training complement our classroom approach. At Lowell Whiteman, students have the opportunity to live in a unique setting, develop a passion for life-long learning, and challenge themselves to act as leaders, both indoors and out, and at home and abroad.
