LWS Students Shine at J2 Nationals

The alpine J2 Nationals, held in Aspen, found LWS students finishing strongly in numerous events.  Anna Marno, Class of 2010, bested her competition to place 4th in the Super G event, 7th in the downhill event, and 5th place overall.  Her stellar performance has qualified her for the U.S. Alpine Nationals to be held at Maine’s Sugarloaf Mountain, March 22-26, where she will compete against the best skiers in America.  Cassady Roberts, Class of 2009, was another standout, taking 11th in the slalom event.  Shane McLean, Class of 2010, took 16th in the Giant Slalom.  Similarly successful were LWS’s male competitors.  Hig Roberts, Class of 2009, who skied to a first place finish earlier this season in the FIS Junior Competition, took 10th place in the Giant Slalom.  Fellow LWS student, Max Marno, Class of 2009, edged out many of his competitors and snagged 6th in the Super G and 9th in the Giant Slalom.
