A Free Ride To Nationals

On Friday, March 14, LWS freeriders Molly Leonard, Class of 2008, Lauren Ladley, Class of 2008, and Ben Von Thaden, Class of 2009, wowed the crowds and impressed the judges at Winter Park, spinning and twisting their way to victory.  Leonard and Ladley mopped up in the Pro Half-pipe event, snagging first and second places, respectively.  Von Thaden also outscored the competition in this event’s men’s division, earning second with his 540 degree tail-grab and hand-plant.  The ladies smoked the competition in the slope-style event, Ladley grabbing first in the 14-17 pro division and Leonard taking second in the amateur division.  All three performed well enough to warrant an invitation to next week’s Nationals Competition to be held in Park City, Utah.
